Job summary

Hermanson Company is a leading mechanical contractor serving the Puget Sound area since 1979. We design, build, and maintain HVAC, piping and plumbing systems for diverse facilities, with a hybrid work model requiring three days in Kent and two days remote.

The role emphasizes senior-level design work, code compliance, and mentoring of junior engineers, with strong coordination across CAD and engineering teams. A PE is preferred and experience with energy modeling is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; PE license preferred.
• 8+ years of mechanical systems design experience for complex facilities.
• Familiar with codes (IBC, energy codes), ASHRAE, SMACNA; strong writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC, piping and plumbing systems for commercial, residential and public facilities.
• Perform loads, ductwork, pipe sizing, equipment selections and energy assessments.
• Coordinate design with CAD team and project stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and support quality control and value engineering.
• Present designs in weekly department meetings and coordinate with field personnel.
