Altria is seeking an Associate Manager, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting in a hybrid role based in Richmond, VA. You will lead technical accounting research, prepare SEC disclosures, and collaborate with finance, legal, and auditors to strengthen reporting and controls.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; U.S. CPA preferred.
6+ years in public accounting, SEC reporting, consolidations, or technical accounting in a large public company.
Experience preparing or contributing to SEC filings and disclosures.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
SOX compliance experience and control environment familiarity.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Experience with Workiva, Oracle FCCS or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

Lead technical accounting research for strategic transactions and SEC reporting.
Prepare disclosures, footnotes, and supporting schedules for SEC filings.
Collaborate with finance, legal, business partners, and external auditors.
Assess impact of new accounting standards and regulatory developments.
Assist with SOX compliance programs and internal controls.
Develop accounting memoranda and technical analyses for complex matters.
Use reporting systems and automation to improve accuracy and control.
Drive continuous improvement in accounting, reporting, and processes.
