Job summary

Altria Client Services in Richmond, VA seeks an Associate Manager, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting to influence external reporting, guide complex transactions, and support enterprise initiatives in a hybrid work model.

You will prepare SEC disclosures for 10-K/10-Q, assess new accounting standards, support SOX, and collaborate across finance, legal, and auditors. CPA preferred; 6+ years in accounting roles; salary range $104,900–$152,150.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required; CPA preferred.
• 6+ years in public accounting, SEC reporting, consolidations, or technical accounting in a large public company.
• Experience preparing SEC filings, disclosures, schedules, tie-outs and related documentation.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements; capable of applying accounting insights to complex transactions.
• Experience supporting SOX compliance programs and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting research for strategic transactions and SEC matters.
• Prepare and maintain disclosures, footnotes, and schedules for Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 11-K.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, business partners, and external auditors to deliver accounting analyses and reports.
• Assess impact of new accounting standards and regulatory developments on reporting and controls.
• Assist with SOX compliance activities and disclosure controls improvements.
• Develop audit-ready memoranda and analyses to support review and decision-making.
• Use reporting systems and automation to improve accuracy and efficiency.
