Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting to lead complex accounting research and guidance under U.S. GAAP. The role partners with multiple finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and strong internal controls.

Responsibilities include evaluating new accounting standards, assisting with external reporting, and supporting strategic initiatives across a global organization. CPA preferred, 10+ years’ experience in public or corporate accounting required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification or equivalent preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in public accounting and/or accounting for a publicly traded company.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP with demonstrated research ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretative accounting guidance on complex transactions under U.S. GAAP.
• Research and conclude on technical accounting topics and draft memos.
• Monitor new accounting pronouncements and assess impact on financial statements.
• Evaluate design and effectiveness of ICFR with finance and controls teams.
• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting and SEC disclosures.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and escalate complex issues to leadership.
• Support impairment analyses and strategic initiatives such as system changes.
• Collaborate with training teams to educate the global finance organization.
• Communicate technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences.
