Interactive Brokers Group, a global financial services company, is seeking a seasoned Java backend developer to build scalable, high-quality software in a hybrid in-office/remote environment at our Greenwich, CT location. You will work on back-end services, APIs, and risk-aware systems, collaborating with product managers and designers to deliver robust platforms for clients worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or related field is required.
• Proven 5+ years of Java experience or equivalent OO language.
• Strong understanding of OO concepts and n-tier architectures.
• Experience with server-side programming (Java/JEE or C++), RESTful services, and microservices.
• Familiarity with Oracle or relational databases is a plus.
• Willingness to learn about financial instruments and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Create software applications or systems to meet user needs with functionality, reliability, and scalability.
• Utilize Java to write clean, maintainable backend code and develop services and algorithms.
• Conduct thorough testing to identify and fix bugs to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and specifications.
• Review code written by peers to ensure quality and provide constructive feedback.
• Update and modify existing applications to improve efficiency and security.
• Create and maintain documentation for code, designs, and development processes.
• Keep up with industry best practices and emerging technologies to improve processes.
• Contribute to project timelines, estimates, and resource allocations to meet deadlines.
