Job summary

Lusternational is seeking an experienced Interface Manager to support a large, complex rail infrastructure program in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will establish, implement, and manage the Interface Management Plan across engineering, procurement, and construction, coordinating across design contracts, packages, and disciplines to ensure alignment and risk mitigation.

The role requires 10+ years in interface management for major rail projects, with tunnel and utility interfaces experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/engineering or related field; equivalent combo accepted.
• 10+ years in interface management on large rail infrastructure programs.
• Experience developing and implementing an interface management plan and interface register.
• Interdisciplinary review across civil/structural/mechanical/electrical scopes; spatial coordination.
• Underground/tunneled construction interfaces and concurrent contract coordination.
• Familiarity with PM software (Primavera P6, MS Project, Unifier, Kahua) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the interface management plan, register, and control documents.
• Identify, track, and resolve interfaces across design, procurement, and construction.
• Chair interface coordination meetings and drive items to closure.
• Review submittals for interface conformance and maintainability.
• Coordinate civil/structural interfaces with systems housing tunnels and stations.
• Assess change notices for interface impact and document consequences.
• Engage third parties and stakeholders on cross-boundary interfaces.
• Translate unresolved interfaces into program risk with owners and mitigations.
• Maintain traceability from design criteria through turnover testing.
• Support schedule coordination with interface-driven dependencies.
• Prepare status reports and briefings for program leadership.
