Job summary

Lightning AI, the company behind PyTorch Lightning, seeks a Senior Accountant, General Ledger to own the month-end close across entities and help redesign the close process as we migrate to NetSuite.

You will handle cash reconciliation, intercompany, payroll accruals, and asset/lease accounting, reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting in a hybrid SF office (2 days in office).

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on monthly close work.
• Demonstrated command of the balance sheet close: cash, intercompany, prepaids, fixed assets, and payroll accounting.
• Experience supporting an external audit as a preparer, including building workpapers that stand on their own.
• Excellent written communication; you can explain a variance in a sentence and document a conclusion in a memo.
• Advanced Excel; comfort working with large transaction datasets.

Responsibilities

• Support the general ledger close with journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules across entities.
• Reconcile cash and treasury, including bank feeds and subledger mappings.
• Reconcile intercompany receivables/payables and monitor settlements.
• Support payroll and benefits accounting with GL mapping to the ledger.
• Maintain prepaids, fixed assets, and leases, including ASC 842 considerations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and flux analysis with commentary.
• Assist NetSuite implementation and document close processes and controls.
