Job summary

Ryerson, a leader in industrial metal products and services, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to design front- and back-end web architecture, ensure responsive applications, and collaborate with designers to implement features. This hybrid role requires three days per week in our Downers Grove office.

You will own the development lifecycle from concept to deployment, build reusable UI components with React and TypeScript, and design serverless solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or similar field, or 10 years with a High School Diploma.
• Experience creating unit tests using Jest.
• Minimum 3 years of React.js and TypeScript experience.
• Knowledge of Node.js and Serverless.com.
• Familiarity with MySQL and MSSQL databases.
• Basic experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
• Excellent verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete software development process from conception to deployment.
• Build reusable, accessible UI components and React pages using TypeScript.
• Design and implement serverless services using Serverless.com.
• Maintain and upgrade software post-deployment.
• Review code, optimize performance, and address scalability concerns.
• Oversee end-to-end production of software and applications.
• Guide design, writing, building, deployment, and testing activities.
• Provide feedback during development and support testing processes.
• Adapt to additional duties as needed.
