Job summary

BMO U.S. in Chicago seeks a Senior Data Engineer - Reporting Automation & AI to design and maintain automated risk reporting pipelines. You will translate manual processes into scalable, AI-enabled workflows and bridge raw data to accurate stakeholder reports.

The role is hybrid, based in Downtown Chicago with three days in the office, including Tuesday in-office. You will work with risk teams, modernize SAS workflows to Python/Anaconda, and build dashboards in Power BI.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience in reporting automation or data development.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated reporting solutions for risk reporting.
Build and integrate AI-enabled workflows to streamline data prep, validation, and report generation.
Develop Python and Shell apps to support reporting automation and monitor system health.
Modernize legacy reporting into scalable pipelines, migrating SAS-based processes to Python.
Design data marts and star schemas for Power BI.
Develop and optimize SQL queries for high-performing outputs.
Collaborate with data-reporting teams to ensure usable data structures.
Communicate technical ideas clearly to stakeholders.
