Job summary

Marx Okubo Associates, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager (Construction) to lead owner-representative duties on large commercial projects.

The role is hybrid, with two days weekly at our Southern California offices in Huntington Beach or Santa Ana, and site visits as needed. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's Degree or Certification in Construction Management, 10+ years in construction management (5+ on large projects with a GC or OR firm) and strong communication, risk management, and budgeting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Certification in Construction Management.
• 10+ years in construction management, including 5+ on large commercial projects with GC or OR firm.
• Deep understanding of construction delivery methods and building codes.
• Excellent conflict resolution and communication skills.
• Strategic thinking with ability to identify trends and achieve goals.
• Autonomous work style and ambassador for the firm.
• Honesty, reliability, and accountability.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Act as owner's representative for clients on large commercial projects.
• Review documents for constructability, scope and value engineering.
• Evaluate bids, pay apps, change orders, and GMP contingency usage.
• Manage budgets and provide financial reporting to clients.
• Identify and mitigate risks.
• Oversee projects via site visits and travel.
• Ensure deadlines are met and analyze delay claims.
• Create executive-level reports and present findings.
