Job summary

SCI Summit Consulting, LLC, based in Gainesville, GA, seeks an experienced senior claims professional to manage a large inventory of complex property and casualty claims, coordinate investigations, negotiate settlements, and ensure accurate documentation. You will work on-site four days a week with one remote day, and mentor staff within the Claims department to drive performance.

Education requires a Bachelor's degree in business, risk management/insurance, or related field, plus about 9 years

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Generally, a minimum of 9 years of experience in property and casualty claims handling.
• Scope of job: Broad authority, strong knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling procedures, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages a large inventory of complex claims to evaluate compensability/liability.
• Plans and conducts complex claims investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability and damages.
• Analyzes and negotiates settlements/reserves within authority; may attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Conveys complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• Authorizes payments within assigned authority and ensures timely payments.
• Maintains accurate claim files with correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.
• May mentor staff and participate in talent decisions within the Claims department.
• On-site four days a week with one remote day; core in-office days Tue–Thu.
