Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Civil Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation and Infrastructure team in New Jersey. The role is hybrid and based at NJ offices in Morristown or Lawrenceville, focusing on roadway design, project management, and coordination for NJDOT and municipal clients.

You will lead design efforts, mentor staff, and ensure deliverables meet safety, quality, and client expectations while collaborating across disciplines and with stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required).
• 4+ years of relevant post-graduate experience including roadway or civil infrastructure design.
• EIT Certification in New Jersey.
• Experience with design teams on NJDOT and municipal projects (highway, roadway geometric design, roadway plan production, drainage design).

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist with roadway design, feasibility studies, final design, and preparation of plans and specifications.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams while ensuring quality and safety standards.
• Mentor and train junior engineers; manage tasks budgets and schedules to support project delivery.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and stakeholders; perform field verifications as needed.
