Job summary

MITRE in Bedford, MA is seeking an experienced Operations Research Analyst to join the Operations Analysis department. You will apply advanced analytical methods to inform policy and acquisition decisions, frame problems, collect data, develop algorithms, and present actionable results to sponsors.

Candidates should have 8+ years of related experience with a relevant degree and must hold a Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 6 years with a Master’s; or PhD with 3 years of experience.
• Be passionate about applying operations research, statistics, and data analytics to real-world problems.
• Demonstrated ability to use at least one optimization package and one modern programming language.
• Must have an active U.S. government secret clearance and be eligible for Top Secret clearance.
• This position requires 4 days a week on site.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced analytical and mathematical modeling techniques to inform policy and acquisition decisions, maximizing operational effectiveness.
• Frame problems, collect and manipulate data, develop & code customized algorithms, identify risks, and incorporate context.
• Present results in an intuitive, actionable manner to sponsor audiences, including data visualizations.
• Work independently and with a team of technical staff and domain experts.
• Collaborate in a remote environment and with in-person presence.
