Job summary

HCSC seeks an experienced actuary to lead modeling, pricing and forecasting efforts in a hybrid role in Nashville. You will implement, maintain and review actuarial models and present findings to drive decision making across departments.

This senior role requires ASA/MAAA, a bachelor’s in actuarial science or related field, and at least 5 years of health actuarial experience. In-office 3 days per week; no visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics; other degrees may be considered.
• ASA and MAAA memberships with active status.
• At least 5 years actuarial experience in health insurance or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication for documentation and presentations.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage implementation, maintenance and review of actuarial models, studies and systems for pricing, underwriting, statistics and reserving.
• Develop and teach models; develop written and oral presentations to inform decisions.
• Lead day-to-day projects that may involve non-Actuarial departments.
• Demonstrate deep understanding of one actuarial area or business segment.
