Job summary

Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) seeks an experienced actuary to lead the development, implementation and review of models used for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving and forecasting. You will develop complex models, create presentations, and drive decision making while mentoring teams across departments.

Required ASA/MAAA, a bachelor’s in actuarial science or related field, and 4+ years in health insurance actuarial work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics.
• ASA and Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) compliance.
• At least 4 years actuarial experience in health insurance or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage implementation and maintenance of actuarial models and systems for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving and forecasting.
• Develop complex models and present findings to drive decision making.
• Lead day-to-day projects that may involve non actuarial departments.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge in one actuarial area or business segment.
