Job summary

Allianz Commercial in Chicago seeks an Senior Actuarial Expert to lead advanced reserving work, including forward-looking loss ratio views and collaboration with underwriting, claims, and pricing teams. You will present to executives and drive innovative, robust reserve methodologies across the globe.

The role requires IFRS 17 expertise, strong analytics, and the ability to guide junior colleagues in a hybrid environment with a focus on accuracy and strategic insight.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years business experience in the P&C industry, preferably in Reserving.
• ACAS designation and strong reserving knowledge.
• Market dynamics, regulations, reporting requirements and data flows.
• Finance/insurance know-how with cross‑department collaboration.
• Ability to identify patterns in complex data and distill insights.
• Balance sheet understanding of IFRS 4/17; closing and reporting experience.
• Analytical communication of results; experience with R/Alteryx/Tableau/Python is a plus.
• Experience applying AI/ML to improve processes and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Estimate adequate loss reserves for lines of business on IFRS 17 basis.
• Derive normalized loss ratio and validate NLR via reserve reviews.
• Support monthly closings and present to Loss Reserve Committee.
• Drive innovation to improve forecast quality and predictability.
• Peer review work and provide training to junior colleagues.
