Job summary

DeWinter Group is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to own the general ledger, drive the month-end close, and resolve complex accounting matters in a lean startup environment. You’ll work across Finance, FP&A, Operations, Inventory, and AP/AR to bring structure to a hardware-enabled business.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and industry.
• Ownership of the month-end close process and related reporting.
• Expert-level QuickBooks Advanced or Enterprise proficiency.
• Ability to interpret contracts and assess accounting implications.
• Hands-on with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
• Knowledge of ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 330, ASC 360, ASC 323, ASC 810.
• Experience with project accounting, CAPEX, and fixed assets.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and collaborative skills.
• Active CPA or CPA candidacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Close periods consistently and establish reliable close processes.
• Prepare flux analysis and explain material variances to Controller.
• Manage reports in QuickBooks Advanced or Enterprise.
• Review customer agreements under ASC 606/842 and maintain schedules.
• Maintain revenue, deferred revenue, and lease schedules.
• Review billing and deferred revenue rollforwards for GL alignment.
• Support consolidation and ASC 810 assessments; prepare entries.
• Oversee project accounting for site deployments and budgeting.
• Manage capex, PO tracking, and monthly reporting.
• Maintain fixed asset register across deployed and leased assets.
• Track inventory from materials to finished goods and field deployment.
• Perform inventory rollforwards, cycle counts, and reserves analyses.
• Support various tax and accounting provisions and audits.
• Oversee AP/AR activities and investigate complex issues.
