Job summary

Ardent Mills in Denver, CO is seeking a Sr. Accountant to independently perform and oversee medium-to-high complexity general accounting activities in support of accurate financial reporting under US GAAP.

The role partners with finance, operations, sales, HR and IT to resolve accounting matters and improve processes. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree (CPA preferred) and 6+ years of experience, with strong Excel skills and experience with Microsoft D365.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; CPA preferred.
• 6+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience with general accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and close processes.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute complex journal entries across assigned areas.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with Sales and Human Resources on trade, broker, payroll, benefit, and related accounting matters.
• Partner with IT and operations to automate routine tasks and improve reporting and data quality.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation, analysis, and timely responses.
• Own and maintain accounting policies, procedures, process documentation, and control narratives.
