Job summary

Thales Group in Austin is seeking a Security AI Operations Engineer to bridge automated AI systems with human security operations. You will supervise AI-assisted workflows, manage HITL routing, and maintain knowledge bases used by generative models.

You will audit AI outputs, track KPIs like MTTR and analyst adoption, and train security staff on prompts and AI copilots. This role is hybrid in Austin with regular collaboration with the Security Automation & AI Engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, cybersecurity, IT, engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years in SOC/MSSP/ITSM or similar roles, including 2+ years with AI/Gen AI workflows.
• Strong knowledge of security operations, threat lifecycle, alert triage, WAF and API security.
• Experience with generative AI tools, prompt workflows, and enterprise ticketing/orchestration (Jira, ServiceNow, PagerDuty, SOAR).
• Familiarity with AWS Bedrock, OpenSearch Dashboards, CloudWatch.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AI-assisted security workflows and HITL routing across incidents.
• Manage knowledge bases, SOPs, and prompt lifecycles feeding models.
• Audit AI outputs against human benchmarks and monitor KPIs.
• Train analysts on prompts and AI copilots, gather feedback and improve processes.
• Collaborate with Sales Eng and accounts on Value-Added Services and customer adoption.
