Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer in Seattle for a hybrid role. You will design, build, and operate core platform services and internal tools that manage millions of product records daily, balancing backend scale with usable internal interfaces.

You will drive data integrity, participate in on-call rotations, and influence architecture while mentoring engineers across the team. The role emphasizes reliability, observability, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience including backend services and frontend apps
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/IS/Data Engineering
• Strong communication, both written and verbal
• Proficient in multiple programming languages and agentic development
• Experience designing microservices in Java with PostgreSQL and Kafka
• Frontend production React apps with TypeScript and good usability
• Infrastructure fluency: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD
• Distributed systems thinking with data-driven perspectives
• Ownership mentality and cross-functional collaboration
• Bias toward simplifying complex systems

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve core platform services powering product data systems
• Design delightful internal tools and dashboards for merchants, data stewards, and admins
• Drive data quality, canonicalization, and entity resolution at scale
• Own what you ship: participate in on-call, observability, runbooks, and incident response
• Influence architectural decisions and mentor engineers in the team
