Job summary

Gotion Illinois New Energy seeks a Sales Electrical Engineer to blend commercial and technical work, bridging engineering and business development for energy storage systems. You’ll configure systems, review diagrams, and support customer acquisitions and account management.

You will present value propositions to customers, respond to RFIs/RFPs, and collaborate with engineers to translate market needs into technical briefs. Occasional travel and on-site presence required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
4+ years in electrical engineering, with 1–2 years in a customer-facing, sales engineering, or business development role.
Working knowledge of power systems fundamentals: protection schemes, single-line diagrams, load flow, interconnection standards.
Familiarity with battery energy storage systems (BESS), inverters/PCS, and grid-tied or behind-the-meter energy applications.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling language for non-technical audiences.
Strong proposal writing, presentation, and customer communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with CRM tools and engineering software (AutoCAD, ETAP, or equivalent) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Identify, qualify, and pursue new customer opportunities across target segments (C&I, data centers, municipalities, utilities).
Lead customer-facing engagements from outreach through proposal, negotiation, and contract execution.
Develop and present tailored proposals communicating technical capabilities, financial value, and project structure.
Build and maintain a pipeline of active prospects; report progress to the Director.
Support marketing materials, capability decks, and case studies highlighting BESS and energy solutions.
Represent Gotion at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings as a credible technical and commercial voice.
