Jobot is seeking a hands-on Safety Director to lead safety excellence for a growing heavy civil and excavation operation in South Dakota. The role emphasizes a strong safety culture, field leadership, and company-wide program development with hybrid work flexibility.

The position involves overseeing safety policies, training, inspections, and incident investigations across projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving long-term team growth within a values-driven construction organization.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of progressive safety experience in construction or similar field environments.
• Deep knowledge of OSHA standards, especially excavation/trenching, heavy equipment, and utility safety.
• Proven ability to lead safety programs and drive cultural change.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and improve safety policies, procedures, and training across the company.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulations, focusing on excavation, trenching, heavy equipment, and utility work.
• Conduct jobsite audits, hazard assessments, and safety inspections on active projects.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses with corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks for field crews, supervisors, and new hires.
• Partner with project teams to embed safety into operations and planning.
• Maintain safety documentation, reporting, and metrics.
• Serve as the primary safety resource and culture champion.
