Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Rust Engineer for embedded platforms in Plano, TX. The role focuses on designing, building, and supporting complex Rust-based embedded systems for connected automotive products.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience writing clean, tested Rust code for embedded platforms.
• Experience deploying Rust apps to production and supporting them in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with embedded platforms, connected or multimedia systems.
• Proficiency in debugging, troubleshooting, and upgrading software systems.
• Knowledge of modern software architectures, CI/CD practices, and related engineering competencies.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, agile environment.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to full software development lifecycle for embedded Rust solutions.
• Write clean, tested Rust code following coding standards.
• Produce technical specs and documentation; assess feasibility of solutions.
• Continuously integrate and deliver software in CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead end-to-end user testing with customers to validate features.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with product owners to shape features and meet customer needs.
• Apply best practices to ensure robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Work within an agile team, participating in planning and reviews.
