Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking an engineer to build native services in C++/Rust that run on vehicle compute. You will work across Linux, Android, and QNX, focusing on telemetry, data upload, embedded ML, and customer‑facing features.

This hands‑on IC role is ideal for someone early in their career who thrives solving hard, real‑world systems problems with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance in automotive environments.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of software engineering experience or a BS/MS in CS/CE/EE with demonstrated building experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build native services in C++/Rust that run on vehicle compute across Linux, Android, and QNX targets.
• Work on the telemetry platform: signal collection, vehicle‑side metrics, diagnostics, and tooling for fleet reporting.
• Improve the vehicle data upload path: throughput, reliability, and cost for large data at scale.
• Deploy and optimize ML models on the vehicle's NPU with latency and accuracy targets.
• Instrument what you build for field debugging and use data to fix real vehicles.
• Benchmark and defend performance budgets to prevent regressions before shipment.
• Write design docs, review code, and debug on bench hardware and in vehicles.
