Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking a Fatality Management Coordinator within the Emergency Management Department. This role develops plans for preparedness, response, and recovery from unusual emergencies and works with regional partners to strengthen safety and resilience across communities.

As part of the Emergency Operations Center, you will coordinate fatality management activities, lead workshops, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidance while supporting a 24/7 on-call rotation

Qualifications

Two years of professional experience in program or project management in emergency management.
Bachelor's degree in emergency management, public or business administration, or a related field.
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Lead and assist in planning and implementation of Department programs and initiatives.
Develop, update and evaluate emergency management plans, SOPs, and manuals.
Manage the COOP program for the Office of the Medical Examiners, including trainings and drills.
Conduct after-action reviews and implement continuous improvement after exercises and activations.
Serve as essential personnel in EOC during emergencies and exercises.
