Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking a skilled Fatality Management Coordinator in Emergency Management to develop plans for preparedness, response, and recovery from unusual emergencies. You will support planning, training, and exercises from the County's state-of-the-art EOC, working with partner jurisdictions, tribes, and agencies to strengthen regional preparedness and response.

The role requires two years of emergency management program experience and a bachelor’s degree, with potential for a master’s

Qualifications

  • Two years of professional experience in program or project management in emergency management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public or business administration or related field.
  • Combination of education and / or experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist in planning and implementation of Department programs, projects, and initiatives including regional fatality management workshops.
  • Develop and maintain emergency management plans and procedures for mass casualty and fatality management.
  • Manage COOP program and conduct trainings, drills, and exercises.
  • Conduct after-action reviews and implement continuous improvement after exercises and activations.
  • Serve as 24/7 on-call duty officer on a weekly rotation.
  • Collaborate with local, state, tribal, and federal agencies and partners.
