Job summary

Atrium Health's Lung Nodule Program seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a nurse navigator for patients with lung nodules. The role is hybrid, with remote responsibilities and in-person work at Kenilworth Medical Office Building, plus periodic travel for education and outreach.

The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and collaborates across disciplines. Requirements include RN license, BLS, and nursing program completion; one year of nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess clinical information and imaging recommendations to determine next steps.
• Perform clinical triage, risk stratification, and symptom escalation.
• Provide patient outreach, education, and support by phone, virtually, and in person as appropriate.
• Communicate with patients, referring providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate pulmonary access, appointments, diagnostic follow-up, and multidisciplinary review.
• Identify and help resolve barriers to care while monitoring patients along the pathway.
• Support workflows, tracking, and quality-improvement efforts to promote timely follow-up.
