The Baptist Health Arkansas advanced practice provider (APRN/PA/CRNA) in the Lung Nodule Clinic delivers specialized, evidence-based care for incidental pulmonary nodules and suspected thoracic malignancies.

With autonomy and collaboration across pulmonology, thoracic surgery, and radiology, you’ll establish rapid diagnostic pathways, coordinate multidisciplinary care, educate patients, and support early detection and timely treatment.

Qualifications

  • Current, active APRN license or PA license required.
  • APRN: Masters or Doctoral degree from accredited program.
  • PA: Master's degree from ARC-PA accredited program.
  • APRN board certification (ANCC/AANP/AACN) required.
  • PA board certification (NCCPA) required.
  • Active DEA registration and state prescriptive authority.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Knowledge of Fleischner, ACCP, NCCN guidelines and imaging interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized, evidence-based care for pulmonary nodules and thoracic concerns.

Advanced Practice Nurse /Physician Assistant/CRNA

Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) in the Lung Nodule Clinic delivers specialized, evidence-based care to patients presenting with incidental pulmonary nodules, low-dose CT (LDCT) lung cancer screening findings, and suspected thoracic malignancies. The primary objective of this role is to establish rapid, efficient diagnostic pathways and surveillance for pulmonary nodules. Operating with a high level of autonomy in collaboration with pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, and radiologists, the provider manages risk stratification, longitudinal tracking, patient education, and multidisciplinary coordination to drive early detection of lung cancer and reduce time-to-treatment.

Other information:

  • 1. Current, active, and unrestricted state license as an APRN or PA is required.
  • 2a. Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Education: Masters in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited APRN program required. Concentration as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP), or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) preferred.
  • 2b. Physician Assistant (PA) Education: Master’s degree from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program
  • 3a. APRN Board Certification by the ANCC, AANP or AACN is required.
  • 3b. PA Board Certification by the NCCPA (PA-C) is required.
  • 4. Must have an active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration and state prescriptive authority.
  • 5. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as an APP in Pulmonology, Thoracic Surgery, Medical Oncology, or Interventional Radiology. Preferred prior dedicated experience in a lung nodule management program, lung cancer screening, or interpreting advanced chest imaging (CT/PET).
  • 6. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • 7. Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Strong empathetic communication skills to alleviate patient anxiety surrounding incidental nodule findings and potential malignancy;
  • 8. Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Deep understanding of Fleischner Society Guidelines, American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) guidelines, and NCCN guidelines for pulmonary nodule management and lung cancer screening; Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting chest radiographs, high-resolution CT scans, PET scans, and Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs). Competency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

This job will be authorized80.00 hours bi-weekly.
