Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in the applicable state.
• BSN from an accredited school.
• Five years direct clinical nursing experience.
• CCDS certification recommended within two years of hire.
• Experience in inpatient settings (ED/ICU/Med-Surg) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates documentation to support severity of illness and complexity of care.
• Query physicians concurrently to ensure appropriate documentation before coding/billing.
• Collaborates with case management, nursing, quality, and analytics to resolve queries.
• Educates physicians and providers on documentation needs and coding conventions.
• Ensures MS-DRG accuracy and supports CDMP performance goals.
• Participates in ongoing education and maintains competency in ICD-10 coding.
