Job summary

Harvard University, Faculty of Arts & Sciences, is seeking an experienced post-award administrator to manage a portfolio of faculty-sponsored and non-sponsored research funding. This role ensures compliance with sponsor and university regulations and reports to senior team members.

Hybrid work arrangement with 1-3 days on campus per week. You will collaborate with OSP, ORAC, and FAS Finance, monitor expenditures, prepare progress reports, and advise PIs on budgets and compliance.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to work with financial reporting applications and data.
  • Experience working with faculty; experience with federal or non-federal sponsors preferred.
  • Ability to interact with staff, researchers and faculty with discretion and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other offices (OSP, ORAC, FAS Finance) or functional areas as needed to effectively manage research portfolios.
  • Monitor expenses on a variety of funds and ensure compliance with university and sponsor policies; prepare progress reports.
  • Monitor expenditures and provide guidance to PIs on compliance with sponsor and university requirements, including effort and subrecipient monitoring.
  • Work with departments to manage salary and effort allocation; ensure proper allocation of expenses across funds.
  • Prepare interim and final financial reports; maintain a close working relationship with FAS Finance for non-sponsored portfolios.
