Job summary

University of Michigan is seeking a Research Lab Technician Intermediate for a term-limited role in Michigan Medicine. The position focuses on cell culture, genotyping, and supporting both in vitro and in vivo studies, including CRISPR/Cas9 work and animal experiments.

The role requires a biology/biochemistry degree with 1–2 years bench experience, and a willingness to handle mice and learn in vivo techniques. Hybrid work options may be available and benefits are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science (biology/biochemistry) and prior bench lab experience.
• 1–2 years of bench experience in a lab setting.
• Willingness to handle mice and learn in vivo techniques.

Responsibilities

• Cell culture – thawing and maintaining cell lines and preparing samples for qPCR, western blot and ELISA.
• Genotyping of floxed genes and verification of Cre recombinase in mouse tissue; care and use of mice with drug administration and humane euthanasia.
• Assist with in vitro and in vivo experimental design, troubleshooting and planning.
• Analyze data from experiments using Excel, Prism, ImageJ, FlowJo, and related biostatistical tools.
• Other duties as assigned.
