Job summary

The National Academies seeks a Research Associate for SEEW to develop background research, perform analyses, and draft papers that support education, workforce development, and public engagement across STEM fields. You will prepare outlines, identify trends, and assess future implications.

Responsibilities include managing databases, editing reports, preparing program materials, and assisting with committee and workshop activities.

Qualifications

• Ability to solve intellectual problems of appreciable variety and complexity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with all levels of staff.
• Two years of related professional experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Research, analysis, and methodology: prepare outlines and perform analyses.
• Technical writing, reports, and program materials: create summaries and edit findings.
• Data, references, and records management: maintain bibliographic databases and archives.
• Committee, meeting, and workshop support: coordinate meetings and prepare summaries.
• External relations and public awareness: respond to inquiries and raise program visibility.
• Staff support, training, and supervision: mentor and/or supervise junior staff.
