Job summary

WITTENSTEIN Motion Control (WMC) Inc. seeks a Systems Engineer to join a compact engineering team focused on high-fidelity control loading systems for defense applications.

You will handle motor control, CAN/EtherCAT, and embedded software, with responsibilities extending to proposals, technical writing, and customer liaison. The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration, system integration, and V&V planning.

Qualifications

• Requires deep knowledge of DC motor control, INVERTER functionality, PID tuning and CAN/EtherCAT communications.
• Experience with Simulink and Matlab for control design and testing.
• Ability to produce technical documents, proposals, and interface with customers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support motor control simulation software.
• Integrate motor control loops with customer software over CAN Bus, EtherCAT, and Ethernet.
• Tune control loading systems to meet customer requirements and timelines.
• Troubleshoot issues on-site or remotely from WMC Inc. facility.
• Prepare system architecture documentation and ICDs.
• Support trade shows and assist in proposal writing.
