Volunteers of America–Greater New York (VOA–Greater New York) seeks a Staff Accountant to provide fiscal and operational support for Northern New Jersey operations. The role reports to the Finance Director and involves near-monthly closes, grant billings, and vendor payments.

The position is hybrid remote, located at 205 W Milton Avenue, Rahway, NJ 07065, with an emphasis on accuracy, collaboration, and strong communication skills in a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and one year of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and FASB standards is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Attention to detail with high accuracy and collaboration skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Enter purchase orders, invoices, and payment batches into Microsoft Business Central.
• Validate entries and ensure timely payments to vendors.
• Review and reconcile company credit card activity.
• Prepare grant billings and financial reporting.
• Perform monthly close entries and assist with audits.
