Job summary

Vydia is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and enhance our core platform. Reporting to the Senior Software Engineering Manager, this role will build scalable, high-quality software solutions that power experiences for customers, partners, and internal teams across our proprietary platform.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative, full-stack engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building reliable, maintainable software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of practical software engineering experience; degree preferred but not required.
• Experience developing and maintaining web-based applications.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language or framework with ability to learn new stacks.
• Experience building SaaS or scalable web-based software.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with relational databases and query optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and microservices architectures.
• Experience with Git, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Work within our Ruby app to build and maintain features.
• Design code and database structures that are maintainable and scalable.
• Implement well-tested code that fails gracefully.
• Enhance server monitoring, logging, and alerting; analyze performance.
• Integrate with 3rd party APIs and AWS microservices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to meet requirements.
• Participate in Sprint meetings and write documentation.
• Take ownership of projects and plan features from MVP to polished release.
