Hobson & Motzer, now part of Vantedge Medical, seeks an Engineering Estimating Manager for its Durham, CT operation. This full-time role partners with engineering, operations, and supply chain to create accurate cost models and competitive quotes for medical-device projects.

You will review quotes, propose DFM improvements, select processes (stamping, coining, PECM), and lead customer-facing proposals while ensuring compliance with ISO and FDA regulations.

Qualifications

• Engineering or bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 7+ years in technical roles including medical device manufacturing.
• Experience with precision metals stamping, coining, sub-processing, assembly, and inspection.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Review and filter new quote opportunities for manufacturability and site fit.
• Develop cost and price recommendations for new opportunities.
• Collaborate with SMEs to determine feasibility for stamping, coining, PECM, and sub-processing.
• Evaluate equipment selection, fixtures, tooling design, and automation integration.
• Identify and communicate DFM opportunities to positively impact cost, quality, and delivery.
• Support customer proposals with technical clarity and confidence.
• Investigate new technologies to improve cost competitiveness and value.
• Obtain quotations for outside services and materials in partnership with Supply Chain.
• Review pricing history and perform re-quotes.
• Communicate complex issues clearly to customers and the team.
• Adhere to FDA, ISO, and quality requirements; travel for site visits as needed.
