Qualifications

• 8+ years in manufacturing, processing, or applications engineering, or cost estimating.
• Proven technical leadership directing complex quotes and mentoring engineers.
• Strong business acumen balancing cost, quality, risk, lead time, and customer expectations.
• Extensive knowledge of precision manufacturing processes, materials, inspection methods, and external services.
• Experience evaluating new technologies, including supplier engagement and make-versus-buy decisions.
• Ability to develop capability assessments and business cases.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex RFQ quoting for medical device components and assemblies, reviewing specs and drawings.
• Lead quote strategy and technical reviews, communicating recommendations and cost drivers.
• Provide technical leadership to Application Engineers and ensure on-time quotes.
• Provide DFM guidance and create CAD models to improve manufacturability and reduce cost.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to defend estimates.
• Handoff awarded projects to development and production.
• Maintain cost integrity by comparing quoted assumptions to actual performance.
• Coach engineers on quoting, DFM, and cost-modeling standards.
