Job summary

T Tegra Medical LLC is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to lead quoting and cost modeling for medical device projects onsite in Franklin, MA. You will drive manufacturability improvements, validate cost structures, and collaborate with engineering, sales, and production to align technical and financial targets.

The role requires 8+ years in relevant fields, deep DFM knowledge, and strong leadership. Extensive experience with CAD, ERP tools, and data analysis is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in manufacturing, processing, or applications engineering, preferably in medical device or precision manufacturing.
• Proven leadership directing complex, cross-functional quoting.
• Strong business acumen balancing cost, quality, risk, lead time, and customer expectations.
• Experience evaluating new technologies, including supplier engagement and trials.
• Ability to develop cost models and business cases.
• Proficiency with GD&T and DFM principles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex RFQ quotes for medical device components and assemblies.
• Define manufacturing strategy including processes, tech, risk, lead time and cost.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers; set priorities and review work.
• Develop CAD models or drawings to improve manufacturability and reduce cost.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to defend estimates.
• Support handoff of awarded projects to development and production.
• Maintain cost integrity and apply lessons learned.
• Improve quoting through data analysis and standard work.
• Coach engineers on quoting, DFM, and cost-modeling standards.
