Job summary

Vantedge Medical is seeking an Engineering Manager in Durham, CT. The role leads Manufacturing and NPI engineering, directing projects, staffing and process improvements to support medical device manufacturing.

You will manage engineering processes, collaborate with quality and manufacturing teams, and drive safe, compliant, high- quality production from concept through mass production.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of work experience in a related manufacturing role.
• Medical device industry experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing systems, ERP and ISO13485:2016 or similar quality environments.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Mastercam.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation and GD&T skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversees Manufacturing and NPI Engineering activities and projects.
• Directs department plans, prioritizes workload and objectives.
• Coordinates with quality, tooling and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensures proper engineering processes, tools and metrics are in place.
• Provides weekly status reporting on active/inactive projects.
• Hires, develops and manages Engineering Department staff.
• Represents engineering in corporate committees and cross-functional meetings.
• Drives a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
