Job summary

Merchants Insurance Group is seeking a Property Claim Adjuster to join our Claims team in Buffalo, NY or at one of our regional offices in Melville, NY; Mt. Laurel, NJ; or Bedford, NH.

The role focuses on Commercial Property claims and involves collaboration with home office managers, policyholders, agents, and service providers. The position offers a hybrid schedule with two in-office days per week and flexibility for remote work on other days.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ claims experience handling first party Property claims.
• Strong negotiation and tactical planning for file strategy.
• State adjuster license or ability to obtain.
• Professional designations are a plus.
• Exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships with claims teams, policyholders, attorneys, and service providers to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Investigate coverage and liability damages.
• Provide high level customer service.
• Direct timely and quality claim investigations, evaluations, and equitable settlements.
• Ensure timely and accurate reserves consistent with reserving practices.
