Job summary

Protective is seeking a Reinsurance Accounting Analyst II to join our Reinsurance Accounting team. This hybrid role supports accounting and reporting for coinsurance and reinsurance partners, ensuring accuracy in monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.

The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation, strong analytical and communication skills, and will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in public, corporate, or insurance accounting.
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record monthly and quarterly accounting activity for coinsurance and reinsurance.
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables including settlement statements and reporting packages.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide explanations with supporting documents.
• Partner with teams to resolve issues and improve reporting accuracy.
• Assist with statutory reporting and audits; support new acquisitions and reinsurance treaties.
