Protective Life is seeking a Reinsurance Accounting Analyst II to support accounting for coinsurance and reinsurance partners. The role involves journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting packages, with collaboration across accounting, actuarial and auditors.

SAP, Excel, Power Query/Automate/BI and Copilot are leveraged to enhance accuracy and efficiency. The position is hybrid, reporting to the office three days a week, offering exposure to life insurance reinsurance in a collaborative

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
3+ years in accounting, preferably in insurance or reinsurance.
Experience with journal entries, reconciliations and reporting deliverables.
Strong analytical/problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft 365 apps.

Responsibilities

Prepare and record monthly and quarterly accounting activity for coinsurance/reinsurance.
Produce settlement statements, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Analyze results, explain variances, and document supporting data.
Collaborate with teams to improve reporting accuracy and automation.
Support audits and regulatory reporting tasks as needed.
Assist with new acquisitions and reinsurance treaty implementations.
