Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University’s College of Health Professions invites applicants to establish a pool of adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Rehabilitation Counseling. Applications will remain in consideration for up to one year, and only those selected for interviews will be notified.

Adjuncts will teach in the Rehabilitation Counseling program, using hybrid or virtual formats.

Qualifications

• Masters in Rehabilitation and/or Mental Health Counseling.
• Ability to develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate level coursework.
• Experience teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in the topical areas to be delivered.
• At least five years of experience working in the community in Rehabilitation / Mental Health Counseling and/or a related setting.
• Experience mentoring graduate students.
• Content expertise in the topical area of the course they teach.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and critical thinking.
• Commitment to fostering an environment of respect and civility for all faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses as part of the Community Mental Health Services minor.
• Teach graduate courses as part of the Master’s in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling.
• Utilize hybrid and virtual classroom instruction effectively.
• Develop course content with community-based experience and strong communication.
