Job summary
Alliance Health in North Carolina seeks a High Priority Reentry Peer Support Specialist to assist individuals with SMI/SPMI on the DAC prioritization list through education and transition support.
You will travel within Alliance catchment areas, provide one-on-one counseling, develop recovery plans, arrange appointments, and coordinate with families and providers to address needs.
Requires NC Peer Support certification and experience; offers fringe benefits and hybrid/remote options.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma with two years of experience working with people with SMI/SPMI and their families or guardians.
- Lived experience with mental health conditions, substance abuse or trauma is required.
- NC Certified Peer Support Specialist Program certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support and counseling to clients.
- Travel to meet members and provide services.
- Develop recovery plans and rehabilitation strategies with clients.
- Coordinate medical appointments, therapy sessions, and support groups.
- Liaise with family, medical professionals and Alliance staff.
