Job summary

BP plc in Westlake, OH seeks a Records & Compliance Advisor to support People, Culture & Communications in a hybrid role. The analyst will review personnel records, interpret multi-state employment laws (with emphasis on California), and collaborate with Legal and P&C to ensure regulatory adherence.

The role requires handling sensitive information with discretion, conducting audits, and supporting training materials related to records and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in HR, Business Administration, Legal Studies or related field.
• 4–5 years in HR, compliance, records management or related area.
• California employment law experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze personnel records for compliance and prepare reports.
• Interpret federal, state and local laws and advise on obligations.
• Coordinate compliance reporting with Legal and P&C teams.
• Prepare responses to state agency inquiries and wage/hour claims.
• Audit P&C records and ensure data accuracy.
