Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a sharp Real Estate Investment Analyst to join a reputable investment firm focused on real estate across the Eastern Cape, based in East London. You will identify, evaluate, and execute opportunities across commercial, residential, and industrial assets, supported by in-depth market research, financial modeling, and due diligence.

The role offers a hybrid arrangement with office collaboration in East London and the flexibility of remote work.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or related quantitative field.
Master's degree or CFA designation is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate investment analysis, corporate finance, or related analytical role.
Strong proficiency in financial modeling using Excel, including advanced functions and scenario analysis.
Solid understanding of real estate valuation methodologies and investment principles.
Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Familiarity with the Eastern Cape real estate market is highly desirable.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hybrid team.
Proficiency in database management and presentation software.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed financial analysis and modeling for real estate investments (DCF, IRR, NPV).
Conduct market research to identify investment trends, opportunities, and risks within the Eastern Cape.
Evaluate commercial, residential, and industrial properties for acquisition, disposition, and development.
Prepare investment memorandums, presentations, and reports for senior management and investment committees.
Assist in the due diligence process, including reviewing leases, contracts, environmental reports, and title documents.
Monitor the performance of existing portfolio assets and recommend strategic adjustments.
Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, appraisers, lenders, and other industry participants.
Stay current with economic conditions, real estate market dynamics, and regulatory changes impacting investments in the region.
Contribute to the formulation of overall investment strategy and asset allocation.
Assist in portfolio management and reporting activities.
