Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown seeks a Real Estate Audit Supervisor in Tysons Corner, VA. You will lead engagements from planning to completion, supervise staff, and build client relationships within the real estate practice.

Responsibilities include budgeting, staffing, risk assessment, and mentoring, with collaboration on complex accounting and regulatory issues. This role drives engagement success and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
• At least 4 years of public accounting experience with leadership of multiple engagements.
• Experience auditing real estate or related organizations.
• Strong analytical, technical, and auditing skills with US GAAP familiarity.
• Excellent client service and communication skills with ability to develop client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team on planning and execution of audits, reviews, and compilations for real estate clients (REITs, developers, funds, managers).
• Oversee day-to-day audit engagement operations including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork and reporting.
• Provide supervision and mentoring to staff and coordinate with managers and partners on issues.
• Collaborate with managers/partners on client issue resolution and regulatory/accounting guidance.
• Review general ledger accounts and financial statements for reliability and compliance.
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently and monitor engagement budgets.
