Job summary

S&P Global Ratings is seeking a QA Engineer to join the Ratings QA team. You will test Web/Windows/API applications, build automated tests, and contribute to data and performance testing.

This hybrid NYC/Princeton role emphasizes timely delivery with quality and collaboration with Product Management and Engineering. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in software testing, experience with Python/Java, Selenium, REST/SOAP, SQL, and CI/DevOps concepts, and a passion for building robust test

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in software testing or development with good understanding of testing, coding and debugging procedures.
• Experience in programming using Python/Java or other languages.
• Experience in automated tests using Selenium across UI/Service/Data layers and root cause analysis.
• Experience advising team to identify automatable test cases and collaborating with developers on automation/performance friendly code.
• Experience in refactoring and extending test automation/performance frameworks.
• Experience with SOAP and REST services and SOA architecture.
• Exposure to Git and SQL/PL-SQL and RDBMS.
• Experience with Data Quality testing and Test Data Management.
• Experience in developing Test Plans and Test Cases and executing Exploratory Testing.
• Experience with performance testing tools and JMeter.

Responsibilities

• Create tools and frameworks with quality code to simplify testing scenarios.
• Design and develop test plans and test cases based on specs; execute and report results.
• Collaborate with development teams to deliver functionality on time with required quality.
• Act as test lead, plan work of testing staff and assign tasks.
• Provide guidance and assist project staff using strong testing skills.
• Review and approve scripts, results, and defect descriptions; ensure best practices.
• Focus on Web, Services/API, and Database testing requirements.
• Participate in agile project scoping, reviews, and test specifications.
• Engage in architecture/design reviews with emphasis on test automation/performance strategy.
• Participate in functional, system and regression testing; capture QA metrics.
• Estimate and perform risk analysis for quality delivery.
