Job summary

Arizona Department of Health Services is seeking an AZ Choose Safe Places Intern to join our team for 18-26 weeks, working 11-19 hours weekly. This hybrid role starts as soon as possible and supports diverse outreach to child care facilities while gaining hands-on experience in environmental health.

The intern will learn to communicate health information, develop results reports, and work with mentors on group projects. ADHS offers flexible schedules and a supportive environment for students.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree and eager to learn in a public health setting.
• Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills are required.
• Experience with data entry and basic data management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Outreach to engage child care facilities in the AZ Choose Safe Places Program.
• Communicate with participating facilities and assist with developing results reports.
• Learn about environmental exposures and assist with soil screening using an XRF analyzer.
