Job summary

Old Colony Elder Services (OCES) in Massachusetts seeks a Protective Services Worker to investigate and substantiate abuse/neglect in elder populations. You will assess capacity, risks, and coordinate protective plans to safeguard clients, with after-hours emergency coverage as needed.

Ideal candidates have crisis intervention experience, strong compassion, and a Bachelor's in Social Work; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in human services, preferably with elder population or crisis intervention.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field preferred; current licensure if appropriate.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote independent functioning of members and provide services in the least restrictive environment.
• Conduct investigations and evaluate the functional capacity, situation and resources of the elder.
• Develop and implement protective services plans to alleviate risk and abuse.
• Determine whether to petition the court for a Protective Order and refer serious abuse to the District Attorney.
• Provide emergency PS department coverage during non-business hours.
